10mm FUBAR / Gruntz 15mm: 2nd Battalion, Terran 5th Armored Division

Just showing off my 10mm Terran Alliance Armored Battalion army that I use for games of FUBAR or larger games of Gruntz 15mm. I know they are small for Gruntz but the rules work just the same for vehicles and tweek it just a hair for the infantry (which turn into multi-wound units instead of single minis)

M25A2 Franks Main Battle Tank is armed with a 30mm Railgun as its main armament and can fire Solid Inner Core, Kinetic (SICK) rounds for anti-tank work and Frangible Uranium Core, Kinetic (FUCK) for anti-personnel use.

For the model I used a Regulator II hover tank from Mechwarrior clix. Pooped it off its base and repainted it with tan acrylic paint, Tamiya Smoke wash, and chainmail silver from Citidel. The Hammer head was an unexpected conversion because the Tank had a broken barrel so I used a missile pod from a Gundam model in its place and it fit pretty good.

The Command Tank got a improvised white stripe across the tank/

Franks MBTs supported by a Hammerhead variant and a platoon of Terrapin APCs.

Painting stripes are a bitch. As I get older my hands shake more and it is hard to paint a straight line.

Terrapin APC made from a Maxim hover tank model again from Mechwarrior clix. Pooped off the base and repainted.

Side view of the M30 Terrapins. These hover APCs carry the army Blackhawk Powered Armor in squad strength. They can also support their squads with light anti-armor missiles fired from a small turret.

A typical company level configuration of two Armor platoons and a supporting Mechanized PA platoon.

M31C Battalion Command Tank sacrifices cargo capacity for communications and electronic warfare capability. Typically the Battalion XO monitors and advises the CO in the field from a secure location close to the main line of resistance or operational unit.

Franks and Hammerhead on overwatch near an abandoned mining operation.

Nighthawk scout power armor pushes forward to flush out any potential ambush sites.

Blackhawk PA deploy from its transports in cover and prepare to flank any potential ambush force in the mining camp.

Sometimes assigned to an armor battalion are Piranha scout sleds. They are fast hover vehicles with minimal armor and weapons (5mm Railgun)  but carries a strong ECM suite and are very stealthy machines. They can also be used aggressively to circle strafe larger and slower mecha and tanks to hit the more vulnerable rear armor as seen here in a battle on the planet Kreul.
