Gruntz 15mm: D.E.A.T.H. Teams cyborg army

Ok so I managed to finish off the middle sized cyborgs for the army. They are the Synod's highly skilled shock troops and commandos. They drop from orbit using a combo grav pack/ shield generator which is used up during the jump. The empty packs are buried before the troops head out to their objective to reduce the risk of enemy observation.

The Jotuns are about twice the size of a standard bio-bod immortal and carry full auto lasers to support their smaller brothers.

All of the cyborgs are very fast and can cover a lot of ground. All cyborgs have the long runners perk, and some have the ultimate agility perk giving them a move of 7" standard.

All,in all the force is a fast hard hitting and we'll armored force but very expensive points-wise as befits a highly capable commando unit.

Gruntz 15mm: Synod of Worlds D.E.A.T.H. Teams

The Synod of Worlds is a Universe spanning governmental beauracracy and has departments setup to regulate every conceivable sentient activity. When worlds are deemed unfit to be chosen for inclusion to the Synod they a marked for extermination. The Department for the Extermination of Anti-Synod Terrestrial Habitats was formed to carry out the global genocide of these doomed worlds. The D.E.A.T.H teams use convicts and the terminally ill to harvest intelligences for implantation into cyborg bodies and given extensive combat training, hypno-indoctrination, and extensive implanted memories of all known hostile worlds and their know capabilities and armaments.

Most are implanted into tactical combat bodies roughly the size of your average sentient being. These have been code named "Immortals" by the Terran Aaliance since it has been confirmed that an un damaged "brain box" can be salvaged and re-used in another cyborg body.

Some of the more talented or experienced operatives are implanted into larger, stronger, tougher and more heavily armed bodies to support the line troops. These mid sized cyborgs generally lend fire support to the "immortals" and carry heavier armor and weapons. They have been code named "Jotuns" after the old Norse Ice Giants since a Jotuns is about 12 feet tall.

The large cyborg are split into two different but similar types. The smaller once is called an "Yami" while the larger and most heavily armed and armored of the cyborgs has been called a "Yama" after the Hindu twins who govern the underworld.

Typically the Synod will use these D.E.A.T.H. Squads as commandos and perform missions to remove ancient terraforming and control devices from a Fallen world before the main fleet arrives with a World Eater machine to end the planet's existence. The cyborg soldiers have also been used to terrorize borderline populations by kidnapping or killing their leaders or infiltrating before an invasion to knock out key defensive positions or command and control nodes. They cyborg soldiers are very well trained and experts in all of the combat arts.

Here are the Immortals and Yami/Yama cyborgs. I haven't painted up the Jotuns yet but I just primed them this morning so I should have them finished tonight.

The Immortals are Shalur mercenaries from Rebel Minis and the Yami/Yama class are Star Wars minis from WoTC and I believe they are Dark Trooper models.

Gruntz 15mm: Neo Japanese Imperial Army

I have been slacking lately with the new job making me very lazy. This weekend I decided to finish one of the projects I started recently. The NeoJaps are a pretty balanced force with lots of infantry using a variety of support weapons and backed up by some MRAPs and two medium mecha. The drop ship can carry 4 squads worth of troops or vehicle specialists and gives the force some extra battlefield mobility though it is unarmed.

6 squads of infantry form the backbone of the Imperial Japanese Army. They are armed with assault rifles and supported by medium mortars, flames light anti tank missiles and snipers.

Half the force is mounted in MRAPs and armed with close range weapons like framers and assault rifles.

Sixe micro tank drones are controlled as a squad by a drone controller and his assistant. The micro tanks are armed with experimental plasma based weapons and twin light machine guns.

The company commander and his executive officer pilot the two Bushi class mecha which are armed with a 30mm autocannon and a small ATGM box mount.

The "Duck" class dropship can carry four micro tanks or four squads of troops slung underneath on special drop mounts. It's fuel tanks are large an appear to be vulnerable but are quite well shielded from ground fire by he bulk of he dropship itself.

Gruntz15mm: NeoJap Orbital Landing Craft

I have been eyeing this model for some time but had no scale frame of reference. I was out shopping today and ran across one in my local hobby town USA. It cost the same as the one on amazon plus shipping so I went ahead and picked it up. It went together easily enough. The color scheme is simple but will be painted over (drying as I type).

The large fuel tanks allow it to descend from orbit and return again for another load. It is currently unarmed and lightly armored as it is not supposed to see combat.
As you can see it is pretty well scaled for a small 15mm drop ship.

It could probably carry two to four squads in an airtight container of some sort or inside their rides if those are airtight and pressurized.

I am going to use it for my fledgling Neo Japanese Imperial Army. Here it is with the ground troops, Bushi, and their mk 6 MRAPs. The commander and executive officer of the force will pilot the two Light Assault Mecha, as befits their Samurai status.

The drop ship is also big enough to carry about four K-wagons and with a little room for some support bots down he middle.

Gruntz15mm: Mission: Trojan Horse

The Synod of Worlds has landed a force of Pan'ku Combat Clones on the ice moon of Kreul. They have landed their troops and withdrawn their fleet. ONI believes the clones are looking for something on the moon, perhaps a bifrost bridge. The 7th Marine Combat Landing Team has deployed from the assault ship Valhalla. Echo Team has deployed with them and is pursuing a separate mission: steal a clone assault lander.

A company of combat clones have seized a deep ice mining operation and slaughtered the crew.

The 7th MCLT moves into the vicinity. A pair of vultures carrying two squads move in to secure the power plant and drilling rig.

A platoon of heavy and assault mecha move to support the Vultures and cover the Myrmidon Echo Team.

A full Myrmidon team has been assigned to this mission so the objective must be of utmost importance.

Two Clone Assault Landers are the Myrmidon objective. The landers could be used by Echo team to infiltrate the Synod fleet hiding in the outer system.

More to come tomorrow...

Gruntz 15mm: Clone Army gets some APC reinforcements

Six APCs ready for my five squads of clones and a squad of snipers along with the commander to ride in.

APCs have some pretty soft detail lines and so it was hard to get the lines there to pop. Still haven't really gotten there but at least it doesn't look like a white blob.

APCs are medium sized in Gruntz and carry 2 squads worth of dudes though these will be carrying a squad, a medic and a missile armed vehicle specialist bot.

The APCs will be armed with a specialist missile launcher to give it limited anti-armor capabilities and allow it to support the troops against other APCs or light mecha.

The army will be fighting on snow worlds against the Fel'akin on their homeworld of Akra'hom. As the snows melt some during a brief warm period mud gets on everything and virtually covers most vehicles and turns even good roads into muddy tracks of quicksand.

The entire Clone Army so far.

The clones are a little big for 15mm but they are representing a gene-bred combat clone quick grown in large labs for the use of the Synod Sol Sector Armed Forces.

Because the clones are so much larger (about 7-8') they need a larger APC and the Bearcat is a very large APC but not very well armored and lightly armed with a support missile launcher.

All in all I am pretty happy with how the army came out an look forward to using them on the table top against the Fel'akin.
